Evaluating Student Satisfaction : Measurement of training and job satisfaction of former vocational education students

This handbook is primarily designed for local and state vocational education evaluation personnel who are faced with any of the following problems: (1) lack of research expertise to conduct studies on training satisfaction and job satisfaction; and (2) lack of adequate resource (time and money) to perform systematic evaluations. The handbook has eight chapters. Chapter 1 explains the rationale, development, and organization of the handbook. The next chapter is composed of two commissioned concept papers on the state of the art, problems, and issues of measuring training and job satisfaction. Chapter 3 discusses some basic evaluation considerations. The succeeding three chapters, 4 to 6, explain the following alternative data collection methodologies: mailed questionnaires, interviews, and qualitative methods. Chapter 7, 'Data Analysis and Interpretations, exposes the reader to some descriptive and inferential statistics that are appropriate in analyzing and interpreting data on training and job satisfaction. The last chapter, chapter 8, explains to the reader some strategies for data presentation and utilization.
