Developing and administering training programs: a competency guidebook

This publication aims to provide simple and clear information for individuals wanting to increase their competence in research, leadership and administrative role within the field of training and development. It contains three modules that are linked with the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) study identifying 15 key training and development roles. The emphasised that individual trainers often encompass several roles. Module one, 'Needs and task analysis' covers the roles 'needs analyst' and 'task analyst'; module two, 'Program design and administration, addresses in part the role of 'program administrator', 'manager of training and development' and 'strategist'; and module three, 'Program evaluation', deals with the role of 'evaluator'.
