Report of the Tracing Course Review

The tracing course conducted by the New South Wales Department of Technical and Further Education was scheduled for review in 1979/80 under the Department's policy of regular review of major courses. The course had not been revised under this scheme before, and it was expected that considerable changes would be required in the existing syllabus. Information was collected and analysed on student characteristics, employing organisations and tasks performed by working tracers. This report presents the information, with conclusions and recommendations for revising the tracing course curriculum. Recommendations have also been made concerning organisational and administrative aspects of the course and coordination with related drafting courses conducted by the Department
