The Victorian Chamber of Manufactures-Transition Education Advisory Committee (VCM-TEAC) project arose from increased VCM interest in education and a commitment to understanding, and creating a mechanism for, employer-school consultation and industry contribution to education, particularly at the secondary level. This project report examines the school to work transition experiecned by a group of young people employed in the manufacturing industry. It attempts to located 'friction points' in this process and to suggest future directions to overcome these. The investigation was undertaken by two project officers seconded to VCM from the Victorian Education Department
