Provides informaton on participation rates for the three sectors of education (schools, TAFE, and higher education) in Australia. Those rates are calculated by expressing the number of students in a particular category (age, sex, state, etc.) as a rate per thousand of the population in that category at the same point in time. The focus is on students in post-compulsory education. Hence only students aged 15 and over are included; and TAFE students enrolled in recreation, leisure, and personal enrichment courses are excluded. For schools and higher education institutions, data on 1993 enrolments are included; for TAFE, data on 1992 enrolments are included.
