Comparative study of Australian and New Zealand education and training systems: issues paper: prepared as a basis for consultations in Australia and New Zealand in February 1993

This paper supports a comparative study of the Australian and New Zealand VET systems. Refer to TD/TNC 34.20 for the study's report. The study was intended as a contribution to the development of a strategy for closer cooperation between these countries. At the time of the study, both countries were engaging in fundamental reform of their VET systems. This paper contains sections on national policy approaches and reform strategies, national standards frameworks, mutual recognition developments and issues, trans-Tasman education services markets, registration of providers, accreditation of courses, open learning, equity issues for disadvantaged groups, and industrial relations.
