The theme for the 2000 conference was 'Generating opportunities' and the conference examined ways in which open learning approaches and new technologies address the following issues/sub-themes: the learning age; change and professional development; delivery support and management; and communities and opportunities. This volume contains the opening address, papers presented by keynote and feature speakers, and pre-conference publications of both refereed and unrefereed papers, presented under the four sub themes.
