These brief articles provide information about recent research projects and new and forthcoming publications. Where documents are available online, web addresses (URLs) are provided and all reports are indexed in the VOCED database once they are published. The international article in this issue is 'Assessing VET's global direction'. Based on a scan of international literature and information on the websites of key agencies, it discusses some of the key and emerging themes and policy issues in VET.
