This report addresses the need for co-operation between educational institutions and enterprises in preparing people for, and maintaining them within, the world of work. Its content is drawn from an international 1995 seminar entitled 'Co-operation between education institutions and enterprises in technical and vocational education' that took place in Berlin. The participants in the seminar reported on relevant developments in their countries and regions. The five parts of the report are titled: (1) Introduction; (2) Co-operation between educational institutions and enterprises in technical and vocational education: African experiences; (3) Dual, co-operative training systems - an alternative for advanced developing countries in Asia?; (4) International co-operation - contributions of international and German experts; (5) Conclusions and recommendations from the African group.
