This chapter looks at how information and communication technology (ICT) and networking have made it possible to share resources across geographic boundaries, in particular relating this to the application of this technology for the benefit of adult educators. Materials can be developed in more flexible formats and made more readily available and accessible. Offered as examples of ICT that may be used to widen accessibility of resources for adult educators are the Internet (including email) and the Commonwealth of Learning Literacy Project (COLLIT), with the final evolution of this project yet to show its impact. Other media such as radio and television, as well as online information services and libraries are touched on. The chapter suggests that the challenges lie in finding the technology and networks that are appropriate in the different endowments and environments of different countries and in accessing the cost of the hardware in developing countries, although this can be alleviated by successful networking.
