The emergence of informal learning has drawn attention to a form of learning that seems to do without formally organised instruction: skills are acquired in passing on the job and during leisure time. The following questions are addressed: How sustainable is informal learning? How can it be linked to traditional, institutionalised vocational education and training [VET]?
