This publication, produced by Group Training Australia (GTA) with assistance from the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA), is the quarterly newsletter for the group training network. It contains brief items relevant to different facets of group training across Australia. The contents of this issue include: 'What do New Apprenticeships mean to young people today?' (p. 1) which contains the views of 21 group training apprentices and trainees who participated in a GTA leadership program; 'Experts, examples and each other' (p. 2) which highlights the experiences of participants at the GTA leadership program; 'Firmly on the political radar screen' by James Barron (p. 3) which says that as the issues of skills shortages, trade apprenticeships and vocational education and training (VET) are now firmly on the political map, it is time for the real work of solving skills shortages to begin in earnest; 'Hands on for better career choices' (p. 5-6) which reports on the partnership between Beenleigh Region Industry Training Network (BRITN) and BIGA Academy and how it is helping students achieve a seamless transition to further study or work; 'Tip @ work: moving beyond the age barrier in Far Nth QLD' which highlights a GT New Apprenticeships Targeted Initiatives Program (TIP) that has increased the access of mature aged workers and Indigenous Australians in Far North Queensland to apprenticeships and traineeships.
