This document is concerned with the the area of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Described as the most dynamic sector of the European economy, the ICT industry in Europe is currently in need of skilled people, needed to fill a variety of roles. This guide outlines eigthteen generic job profiles that have been developed by the Career Space consortium in the areas of telecommunication, software and services, products and systems, and cross sector positions. Each of the profiles provide a description of: the types of jobs in the industry; the tasks and the technologies associated with each job type; the skills and competencies required; and the career opportunities available.
