Trends in professional development: part B - case studies

The Australian Flexible Learning Framework’s ‘Professional development for the future project’, undertaken in 2003-04, investigated how people maintain and upgrade their professional skills within a knowledge economy. This document is part of a report that was commissioned to assist the professional development (PD) program develop new PD strategies to support the Framework’s goals. The report explores a range of PD models and strategies used across the education sector, community and industry, both nationally and internationally, especially those incorporating online learning or flexible delivery strategies, to inform the future development of the Framework’s professional development program for the vocational education and training (VET) sector. This document contains the case studies that accompany the main report. The case studies are: Australian Tax Office; Norwegian Tax Directorate; Qantas Online; Ford Australia - FORDSTAR; Thiess Australia; DeakinPrime (a composite study).
