Integrating approaches to developing vocational expertise

This final chapter draws on the vocational expertise outlined in the previous chapters. The author uses activity theory to examine vocational teaching and learning processes. Sample actions that illustrate the teaching and learning principles outlined in chapter two (indexed at TD/TNC 77.463) are presented along with suggestions for instruction. The author uses a diagram to summarise the relationships between expertise, meaning, learning principles, sample actions and instantiations. It is reiterated that the suggestions and examples presented are a guide only, and that individual teaching and learning situations are comprised of various differing elements.
