The focus of this issue is on ethics and civic responsibility. The articles are: 'Ethics: an educational imperative' by Gary Davis (p. 6-9) which emphasises the necessity for colleges to offer a clear mandate for the behaviour expected from presidents, faculty, staff and students; 'Morality across the curriculum' by Robert Exley (p. 10-13) which promotes the active awareness of ethics within colleges; 'Civic engagement: a pathway to service and learning' by Rudy Garcia (p. 14-16) which reports on a program by Albuquerque TVI Community College aimed at providing students with community experiences; 'Integrating civic responsibility into the curriculum' by Karla Gottlieb and Gail Robinson (p. 25-26) which argues the need for civics education to be taught at all levels and across all areas of the community college; 'Leadership and ethics in career development' by Monika Byrd (p. 27-29) which reports on a program created by public safety professionals in California aimed at training ethical leaders in public safety.
