'Training journal' provides current and practical information for those involved in workplace learning, training and development in the UK. This issue contains the following feature articles: 'A path to success: the practical truth of creativity' by Stan Gryskiewicz and Sylvester Taylor (p. 12-16) which explains the importance of creativity and offers advice and exercises to help the flow of ideas; 'Continuous improvement: is it a journey with no end?' by Pamela Hackett (p. 18-22) which examines continuous improvement from a training and management perspective; 'Training, development, education: well, what's the difference?' by Barry Johnson and Mandy Geal (p. 24-25) which reflects on a series of meetings held in 1978 to discuss training development and education, and arrive at a definition; 'Using empathy in training: a model for understanding temperament' by Walter Blackburn (p. 26-30) which shows how an understanding of different personality types can be used effectively in training and management; 'Induction at Argos: easy and effective solutions that really make a difference' by Cath Boshier (p. 34-38) which provides a case study of retail giant Argos' development of a training framework.
