The authors report on all of the regulated occupations in the dual system of vocational training and full-time vocational schools in the Federal Republic of Germany. Supplementary qualifications are described along with the career prospects they make possible. The author also identifies continuing vocational training opportunities as well as new training opportunities for holders of upper secondary leaving certificates, which combine theoretical and in-company training. Each regulated occupation is organised according to the following criteria: scope of tasks, previous training/education, aptitude characteristics, duration of training, career advancement opportunities and related alternative occupations. The guide also includes information on training paths, requirements and remuneration, deadlines and application procedures as well as timetables and organisational plans.
