Local learning and employment networks - effectively building on stakeholder enthusiasm and goodwill

This document summarises participants' deliberations in three Roundtables which were organised, promoted and implemented by the Victorian Industry Education Partnerships (VIEP) and which aimed to explore challenges and strategic responses for Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENs) in their endeavours to involve industry in the postcompulsory education and training reform agenda. Across the three Roundtables there was a view from all participants that their principal interest lay in developing concrete plans, building on what has been achieved to date, for local programs supporting education to work transition. Participants supported the LLEN model as the best means for achieving effective progress, pointing out, however, that some of the reported cultural and administrative obstacles still need to be removed.
