In this paper the findings and questions raised in a literature review of gender and workplace learning are explored in relation to the aged care industry. A broad analysis notes the rise of feminised industries in the service sector in the move from a manufacturing to a knowledge economy. It is argued that the aged care industry is an example of both a traditional female gender segregated industry and of the new feminised service industry because of the recent major changes to work, the workforce and learning.
