Adult learning, Russian style

In this article the authors first very briefly review the Russian tradition of adult education. They then look at the current issues that Russian adult educators consider important. Russian educators suggest that it is important that adult learners be equal partners in the educational process. Another issue is that Russian adult education has to find its own funding in large degree. Russian proponents of adult education suggest that it supports the creation and encouragement of democratic principles and institutions in society.
