Apprenticeships and traineeships have long been a major source of skilled labour for Australian business, particularly in the trades area. Against a background of rapid change and growth, concern has been raised about apparent levels of non-completion of apprenticeships and traineeships. This publication provides a synopsis of the issues, as identified in recent research reports, relating to non-completion of apprenticeships and traineeships. An analysis of recent National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) data has also been incorporated.
