Skill development of the informal refrigeration servicing sector in India: a case study

In this paper the author shares the experiences relating to skill development gained in a study of refrigeration servicing technicians in the informal sector in India. The study was part of the pilot phase of the Human and Institutional Development in Ecological Refrigeration (HIDECOR) project which was targeted at the informal servicing sector in domestic and commercial refrigeration and had the aim of enabling small enterprises in the informal sector and relevant training institutions to cope with new technologies.
