Co-operation (or lack thereof) in Southern Africa

This paper reports on a workshop conducted in Botswana with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in December 2000 with the aim of bringing the countries of Southern Africa together to begin cooperation and networking. Areas of potential cooperation identified by the workshop were: access to education and training; quality of educational and training programs; mobility of both learners and workers throughout the region; the role of basic skills; and the cost of training and e-learning.
