Formal and non-formal delivery of training for rural producers in Madagascar

This paper looks at several aspects of the linkages between basic education and rural development in Madagascar and the questions this raises in relation to practical needs and strategic interests of rural producers as well as public policy development objectives for this sector. It examines the context and supply of education and training for rural development and offers a description of positive experiences in 'adapted rural schools' in the Isonara region.
