Industrial placements provide technical teachers with an opportunity to upgrade their technical knowledge and skills in line with modern technological changes. This paper outlines the industrial attachment training program which was initiated for teachers in Papua New Guinea in 1994. Three case studies are presented and the paper outlines how industrial linkages were arranged and provides an assessment of the benefits that are derived from such an initiative.
