Technicians and engineers require higher technical skills and capabilities as a result of the rapid technological changes and modernisation in industry. Consequently, the role of technical teachers has also changed and one way of updating the knowledge and skills of technical teachers is to send them outside training institutions and into industry. This paper presents a case study and model of the industrial training of technical teachers program from the western region of India. Such an approach enhances the knowledge and skills of the technical teacher and enables them to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in their respective fields.
