The TAFE frontiers project 'Flexible learning planning and management resources' identifies challenges presented by flexible learning to managers in vocational education and training (VET) and emphasises the role of managers in planning, managing and developing flexible learning from a strategic management perspective. The project produced a number of professional development resources for flexible learning released as part of the 'Building FlexAbility' series. Emerging technologies and the increasing use of information and communications technology (ICTs) are continually increasing the number of options available in flexible delivery. This situation increases the diversity of roles and skill requirements for educators in all sectors. This guide identifies current ICT skills and their application in flexible delivery, including online or e-learning and identifies staff development needs for flexible delivery.
