The TAFE frontiers project 'Flexible learning planning and management resources' identifies challenges presented by flexible learning to managers in vocational education and training (VET) and emphasises the role of managers in planning, managing and developing flexible learning from a strategic management perspective. The project produced a number of professional development resources for flexible learning released as part of the 'Building FlexAbility' series. This paper forms part of these professional development resources and was presented at the TAFE frontiers and VISTA (Victorian Institutes Senior TAFE Administrators) forum on flexible learning in the workplace. It presents the process and findings of a research project which investigated flexible learning in the workplace. Flexible delivery and flexible learning are defined for the purposes of the research project as the full range of learning and training activities undertaken in enterprises, including technology-based delivery and learning.
