Changes in Australian occupations resulting from globalisation

This paper reports on a research study into the impact of globalisation and rapid technological change on employment patterns in Australia and the possible implications for education and training. The study investigated two main issues: (1) what has happened to the patterns of employment over the period since the mid-1980s and what have been the occupational consequences of these changes; and (2) what have been the implications, if any, for the major providers of pre-employment education and off-the-job training.
