Young Vision Project: report on development and trialling of a survey instrument and associated literature review

The Enterprise & Career Education Foundation (ECEF), formerly the Australian Student Traineeship Foundation (ASTF), was established with funding from the Australian Commonwealth Government to promote opportunities for young people to gain workplace knowledge and experience before graduating from secondary school. The ECEF Young Vision Project has been established to investigate the views of young people about their experience of structured workplace learning (SWL), career education, and enterprise education during their senior secondary school years. This report, prepared by ECEF and The University of Melbourne's Educational Outcomes Research Unit and Youth Research Centre, documents the completion of the first phase of the project comprising a literature review of the period 1990-2001 and the trialling of a survey instrument, designed for use with senior secondary students, in six schools in Queensland and Victoria.
