What stimulates enterprises to invest in in-plant training? In the age of shareholder and stakeholder value, enterprises must provide detailed accounts and explanations of the goals of their investments. On the other hand, the question of enterprise participation in the dual system of vocational training is of great importance on the level of educational policy. The study at hand approaches in-plant training from various perspectives. The author applies human capital theory to the practical case of DaimlerChrysler AG from the perspective of cost benefit analysis as well as from the standpoint of stakeholder management strategy.
