Entrepreneurial training for the unemployed: lessons from the field

This monograph examines a publicly funded training program for the unemployed in Western Massachusetts. In the introductory chapter, the author provides a definition of entrepreneurship, a summary of entrepreneurship literature, the economic context, program background, her own personal background, the design and purpose of the study and its significance to the field. Chapter two reviews the entrepreneurial literature and sets the context for the case study which is presented in chapter four, which is preceded by a description of the research design. The final chapter presents the conclusion which includes findings along with implications for public policy, and recommendations for further research.
