In the first part of the handbook the author explains important basic concepts and sketches out the history and development of the vocational training system in Germany. The publication offers a systematic account of the legislative and education policy framework that governs the system of vocational training. It also describes vocational training structures, training contents, institutions and examination regulations. The author's focus in the second part of the book is the organisation of the vocational training system and the objectives and benefits of continuing vocational training. The third section addresses didactics and methodology in vocational training. The final chapter considers vocational training from microeconomic and marketing perspectives.
