The 'community's college' and the realities of change

In this article, the author discusses the changes taking place at Montgomery College, USA as it attempts to adapt to the demands of a new information society. There are now increasing demands for courses that are tailored to meet the needs of the workplace and for greater flexibility in scheduling to cater for employed students seeking to upgrade their work skills. As a result of these changes, the college has come up with a new mission statement which is aimed at meeting the needs of the community.
