This book analyses New Labour policy on lifelong learning and offers recommendations designed to upgrade vocational education and training (VET) in the United Kingdom (UK). The author suggests that if the UK is to create a high status and quality VET system, then a unified curriculum is needed and all vocational learning needs to be grounded in a values foundation with emphasis on social justice and community interests.
