This final report from the Information Technology, Communications and Electronics (ITCE) Skills Strategy Group presents advice and recommendations on the development of a national strategy in the United Kingdom (UK) to fulfil the specialist skill requirements of the information technology (IT), communications and electronics (ITCE) occupations. The report begins with an examination of how the ITCE industry's skills needs are changing, the extent to which they are being satisfied, and how to develop an effective strategy for determining skill needs. It then discusses the key problem of how to attract sufficient numbers of skilled employees into ITCE occupations and suggests how more effective cooperation between industry and education providers can improve the provision of skilled labour to meet industry demands. Finally, the report looks at the role of sector organisations representing ITCE employers in supporting the skills agenda. These organisations include national training organisations, professional groups, trade associations and other groups representing specific sectors of the ITCE occupations.
