Implementation of work and vocational education programme - an appraisal

In India, the 1986 'National Policy on Education' introduced the twin programs of Work experience and Vocationalisation of education to provide the skills and competencies demanded by growing industrialisation. This article considers various issues related to these programs which need to be addressed if their objectives are to be achieved and makes a number of recommendations for the development of vocational education.
