Towards self-assessing colleges

Self-assessment is increasingly being recognised by colleges of further education (FE) in the United Kingdom as central to improving the quality of educational provision for their students and other clients. This document is designed to help college managers improve existing systems of quality assurance and to develop new ones. It provides guidance on quality policies and definitions, the development of coherent quality assurance systems, systematic self-assessment, and the design, implementation and evaluation of post-assessment action plans.
