Learner identity, vocationalism and global relations: students in FE

This paper explores the experiences of three groups of part-time students in further education. It examines their orientations towards study as well as their responses to vocationalism and academism. It considers course processes that encourage or mitigate against an emerging identity as a learner. A key concern of the paper is the link between course based processes and the globalised context within which education is placed.
