This booklet presents information concerning students' participation in vocational education at the secondary and post-secondary levels. At the secondary level, it discusses participation levels in the different areas within vocational education, examines the types of curricular areas students are most likely to specialise in, and looks at whether participation occurs within a particular population, such as students with disabilities and students with limited English proficiency. It also looks at the relationship between academic test scores and participation in vocational education. At the post-secondary level, this booklet examines the types of vocational subjects and the proportion of students majoring in vocational subjects. It analyses the relationship between a student's area of study and their employment in a field related to that area of study. It also identifies whether differences in race and socioeconomic status are associated with different levels of participation in vocational education, and looks at the relationship between majoring in vocational education and the receipt of financial aid.
