Report on government service provision 1997

This report is part of the Review of Government Services and is the second of a series of publications which presents information relating to the effectiveness and efficiency of government-funded social services. It covers education and training, health, housing, community services and justice. Part A of the Report deals with performance monitoring and Part B looks at performance in a variety of sectors. Chapter 4 of Part B is a fifty page report on vocational education and training (VET) focusing on employment skills formation taking place either on or off the job. The aim of this review of performance monitoring is to assist each government to assess the success of its reforms and the potential benefits from further reform.
