Evaluating flexible learning materials

A great deal of effort and attention is being devoted to the development of flexible learning materials, involving national projects where national modules are available. However, not nearly as much attention is being devoted to the evaluation of these materials once they have been developed and are being delivered to the student groups. This means that very few materials would be revised in the light of objective research evidence, and not nearly enough evidence is being collected on how and why particular materials work well with student groups.
