The emphasis in this study is on identifying the factors that currently shape the career success of women in process manufacturing. It has its grounding in the very small number of visible women who are developing careers in process manufacturing management and leadership. The aims of the study are to identify the factors shaping their success and to draw out some of the implications for vocational education and training (VET). It is suggested that particular attention needs to be focused on issues concerned with equity and the related area of gender harassment.
