Structured Workplace Learning Programs aim to provide students with workplace experience during their secondary education. This paper addresses the challenges involved in integrating school-workplace learning programs into the school curriculum. For Structured Workplace Learning Programs to become fully integrated within the school curriculum requires a comprehensive review of the existing processes of teaching and learning within the school and its community. This paper provides an overview of the past, present and future, an outline for change, decision making for successful reform and two brief school-based case studies.
