This monograph reports research undertaken on patterns of access, participation and outcomes in relation to vocational education and training in Australia. It draws on national longitudinal survey data spanning the past two decades to examine participation in vocational education and training. This includes programs in secondary schools, in post-school opportunities such as apprenticeships and traineeships, in other TAFE-provided courses, and in work-based training. Results are also provided on the labour market outcomes of participants. The work provides important data on who is participating in vocational education and training programs, as well as the labour market benefits of participation.
