TAFE graduate destination survey 1998: national report

This publication presents detailed information from responses of over 66,000 graduates of TAFE courses to the national survey conducted by AC Nielson on behalf of the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) and which was funded by the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA). The survey involved sending a questionnaire to all 1997 graduates (120,775) of TAFE institutes in Australia who completed a certificate, advanced certificate, associate diploma, advanced diploma or bachelors degree of at least 200 hours or one semester in duration and had an Australian address as their usual address. A total of 66,607 graduates responded, a response rate of 55.2 percent. The aim of the survey was to measure vocational education and training (VET) graduates employment, further study destinations and opinions of courses completed, providing national, State and institute level information to assist in administration, planning and evaluation to support the national strategy for VET.
