The recently completed Adelaide Hills Food Processors Training and Employment Project, sponsored by the Adelaide Hills Regional Development Board and the South Australian Food and Beverage Industry Training Council had the aim of fostering a durable training culture focusing on the food processing industry. This article reviews the project and describes four important lessons that emerged. The project exceeded initial expectations and regional development now needs to maintain the momentum.
