Management training in the agricultural industry: achieving industry training objectives

If the agricultural industry is to respond effectively to radical changes in the global marketplace, industry peak bodies agree that an increase in management skills is imperative. Relevant courses are available in South Australia but it has been estimated that participation rates need to increase dramatically if the industry is to maintain productivity and competitiveness. This project was developed to review current management training in South Australia in order to develop performance measures which would recognise quality as well as quantity of training and to explore options for action that may increase industry members' participation in formal training.
