This manual is a resource for analysing training needs, selecting training strategies and developing training plans, designed to help an organisation match its training activity of the organisation with the training needs its people. Part 1 looks at what is involved in identifying and analysing training needs. It reviews the kind of information the analysis is likely to generate and provides guidance on decision-making. Part 2 contains 22 reusable instruments for gathering and processing information on relevant issues. Increased attention is paid to recording and evaluating information and suggestions for use of new technology to improve the information gathering process are given.
